The Kalith Healing Gift

Larem's uncertain healing ability develops from private experimentation into a moral practice that links animals, Paladins, Sasha, and the future child.

A Dormant Gift

A Dormant Gift Inherited Possibility Larem knows that Kalith Healing Gift has weakened in Kalithia, where the fading light has severed older practices from ordinary life. Uncertain Control He can ease pain but does not know how much energy an injured body can survive. Personal Isolation The gift is another way he is unlike both humans and the sickened Others.

Healing Chance

Healing Chance Practice Through Care Larem tests his abilities on Chance because the dog's injuries require patience rather than battlefield force. Consent and Restraint He uses gradual warmth, stopping before the animal is overwhelmed. Healing becomes an act of listening. Spiritual Parallel Chance's recovery teaches Larem that restoration can be built from repeated small choices.

Healing Hunter

Healing Hunter A Desperate Experiment Larem uses his gift on Hunter when the Paladin is dying from a gunshot wound, risking failure and exposure. A Changed Outcome Hunter returns faster than expected and recovers far beyond ordinary human limits. A New Responsibility The success makes Larem's gift valuable to the Paladins, even though using it may tie him more closely to the world he did not choose.

Healing Sasha

Healing Sasha Emergency Knowledge Larem senses Sasha's injuries and pregnancy before human doctors can fully assess her. His power becomes an instrument of immediate protection. Limits of Power He stops bleeding, reduces swelling, and eases bruising, but cannot erase every consequence. Trust Through Disclosure The gift eventually requires honesty, because Sasha cannot build a life with a partner whose deepest ability remains hidden.

The Gift Given Away

The Gift Given Away Total Expenditure Larem drains himself to heal Chance after Rusty's bullet. The act leaves him unconscious but preserves the life of the creature who protected them. Meaning of Healing He chooses care even when combat would be easier, proving that his deepest strength is not his sword. A Future Practice The gift becomes a model for a life organized around sustaining others rather than merely defeating enemies.
